It's Getting Warmer!

                [sigh]Another grading had come to a conclusion and this only meant one thing. GRADUATION is coming fast! Fourth grading is the only thing left that is hindering me from that particular date. Anyway, I’ve been overwhelmed with everything that had occurred these past few months. All had ended up in either bad or good but fortunately, most concluded on the positive side.

                MS FrontPage was really fun to work on. I would ardently say that it is a whole lot easier than using those mind-bursting tags we had. It was actually very much similar with working in Microsoft Word. How incredibly convenient it was! So right now, I admire those who made this program a real deal. Thanks for making my life easier with tags.

                Well, I don’t recall having any problems significant enough to talk about in this post but if I need to get out of this comfort zone of mine, I think I have something to say. Okay, here goes nothing. Do you actually know the feeling when you see someone doing something very much inappropriate to the stature that that certain person is trying to achieve but then it is achieved? It was actually okay if that person did it in a considerable magnitude but no. That individual had crossed the line, you know, like very much abusing and yet recognitions are bestowed. It’s not like I’m in any position to judge that person but I still know that those actions were already considered mistakes and it’s beginning to be pretty unfair for those who are going through the right path.

                Anyway, I just tolerated that individual for someone more superior would get him someday. Moving on, I will just do my best to succeed in the things I do with fairness of course. In this way, I know I’ll be successful enough to have my own personal view of things I will have in life.

Happy New Me!

                The New Year serves as an insignia for an old leaf to wither and for a new one to come springing out. It speaks out to each and one of us that we have another chance. A chance to be different, a chance to be better and a chance to see life through its genuine purpose. Various personal resolutions have been made by countless individuals who wish to be someone they seek in the just arrived year. For me, it’s no doubt that I have a penchant for such things even though most of such would just be a decoration on my mind.

                It’s just normal for everyone to change especially within such perfect holidays. So how about me then? Is there a new me for this year of 2013?  Well, to be honest I’m not quite sure because I’m very reluctant if I am even capable of making such big changes in my life but if ever I would be lucky enough to even succeed on just one of them, I’m still unsure if I have the guts to sustain them for a considerable measure of time.

                However, these things that I mentioned would not fully hinder me to try having the New Year change I’ve been yearning for. Furthermore, I won’t possibly loose anything by merely trying, right? So for the new me this New Year, I want to be more open to others. You see, when I was in the elementary, I was a bit of an introvert up until the second year of my high school to the extent that I don’t even know my neighbours! I was just able to recognize their faces. Also, what kind of person would not go out of the classroom in any possible hour? Well, that’s me. Yes, the younger years of my life, I’ve spent my time just inside the room without even mingling to most of my classmates. I wasn’t lonely being a lone loner but I had really enjoyed being by myself.

                Thankfully, due to the inexplicable experiences I had seen and I had been, everything finally changed. I started to talk more to my fellows. I began to spend my time with not just myself but with others as well. I really began to be more open with the people around me and this will be the new me if I will be able to sustain or better yet, augment it to its full capacity. I will change if I can from a lone introvert to a happy extrovert.

                I’m just hoping that this year would still be as great as its predecessor. So Happy New Year everyone! Happy New me too!

The Christmas Love

                  The long-awaited day of Christmas might have passed already but its aura is still lingering around the horizon. We can still feel the cool breeze gliding around. We can still recall the panoramas of the things we did in this special occasion. We are still yearning for another minute of such exhilarating experience. But as we continue to cherish these moments, did we really feel the essence of this unique holiday? Or was it just another day where in we have an endless pile of food to munch or a hillside of gifts to unwrap relentlessly?

                I for one had sought the true meaning of celebrating Christmas this year. It’s not about the decorations, the edibles, the gifts nor any other tangible things we have for the event: it’s about the love that we could all share with others. As a matter of fact, everything started out of love. God created the world because of love, Jesus Christ died because of love and They want us to bear love as well. Wouldn’t it be perfect for Christmas time to do just that? Since, we are once again united to celebrate such marvelling season of our whole lives.

                Love does embody everything the Jesus wants us to be. So this Christmas time, let’s all share the love for our families, relatives, friends, neighbours, teachers, classmates and every single human out there but most especially, to God. Let everything else disappear as long as we are all united and that love binds us all, it is just all right. It’s good enough, actually. And this is the true essence of Christmas, my dear friends. Let’s all enjoy it ‘til its last day on the month of January. Merry Christmas! Merry Loving!

Equality for a Better Country

                It has been centuries since women were deprived of their rights as common denizens of that particular society they belong to. They were all perceived as inferior to men. Contemporarily, equilibrium began to stir among the two sides since it has been said that whatever man is capable of, the woman as well is capable of doing just the same. Both men and women were finally even-handed as citizens of this country.

                However, a lot still commit gender-based discriminations towards women and girls for reasons not even acceptable in anyone’s eye. These actions had severely limited the abilities of women together with the community they inhabit in ensuring proper health for them. It is for this reason that the International Women’s Day was formed with the theme for this year “Equal Rights, Equal Opportunities: Progress for All”. This particular line emphasizes equality in rights and opportunities anew on both men and women and thus leading health for women and girls alike to be much improved.

                Attaining progress in our country has always been a dream for every citizen. But for it to have a place in our reality, everyone should take part and make proper actions that would greatly help in the journey for such dream. Promoting the theme for this year’s event, women and girls should be given every right and responsibility that men can act upon on. Men should not only be the one to make our autonomous country progressive so we have to truly augment further the manpower we currently possess and add on the ladies. We should give the women and the girls a chance to show what they are capable of and open up lots of opportunities for them. We need everyone to lend a hand in helping our beloved land. Maintain equality for a better country. 

A Blue Face

                I never thought I would see something this tremendous. It was beyond any of my belief to see something absolutely inexplicable but yet quite disturbing. Never in any value of time did I ever expect to witness this gigantic face right before my eyes. It showed nothing but hardship, suffering and sadness. The expression of this ocean-coloured face had meant only one thing- “help”.

                This blue figure has got to be the most unfortunate being that had ever existed. The tears from its eyes were very unusual. They were completely filthy like they’ve been contaminated with everything that had a sole purpose of hazarding its well-being. Its face on the other hand didn’t do any better. It looked very ill and weak as if it had only seconds left before losing everything it has. Whenever this unfortunate being would cough, dark-coloured vapour would come spraying out and draw its appearance a more pitiful one.

                Abruptly, its temperature began to rise in an uncontrollable rate.  Its shape began to disorient. Its eyes welling up more and more tears as if desperately pleading for urgent help. It altered its colour between blue and red in an impeccable pace. Its coughing reared too often than it could take. Crackling noises and blinding lights began to tread relentlessly around its body showing a horrific scene. A couple of seconds later, everything concluded in a deafening silence. Nothing can be seen. Not even a speck of trail was left by the blue figure. It just vanished. The earth just vanished.

                Yes, it is definitely obvious that the face and the blue figure embodied our mother earth. Undeniably, we also all know for a fact that she is fatally suffering from all our inhumane actions and yet we call ourselves the highest form there is. Climate change has always been a phenomenon that’s been savaging our nature. It brought nothing but misery towards her but it yielded recreations and comfort for us. Now, this is the primary problem we currently have on our backs. How would we save mother earth while simultaneously sustaining our needs as denizens?

                Discipline is all we need. If we are well aware that our actions led to our planet’s ongoing destruction, then we should also be well-aware that life-saving actions should be started at an immediate period. We should set boundaries in everything we do that would affect nature. We should limit the destructions we’re making whenever we need something that can only be given by her. Let’s put into our minds these simple interrogations, why would we hurt someone who had given us life? Aren’t the actions we are making considered as crimes? If so, then we should all be in jail.

                Still, God is generous enough because He had offered us a second chance. I do hope we shall utilize this wisely and make mother earth just the way it should be. She already called for our help and I’m expecting that we should all respond. Not for her alone but for ourselves and for our future. We should eradicate everything that had gotten the best of us especially this arch-nemesis of ours, the so called Climate Change. For if we still refuse to do so, the blue face will no longer be an embodiment but the real deal.

                 

Still a Blog On-deck

                Greetings! Phewww…..I’m so relieved! You want to know why? Well, of course you do because opening this blog would have been a futile task if you were not so curious enough. I’ll just tell you anyway but be warned! I’m not the usual sort that would be talking about something that would interest you so much and that doesn’t exclude the reason why I’m so happy at this very moment.

                First things first, I would want to thank my dear teachers in this subject, Mrs. Evelyn Vera Cruz and Ma’am Melany Queyquep for giving me and all of Martinelleans another phone call filled with nothing but knowledge. I had to admit, I never thought the internet could burrow any deeper than I know but I was sadly mistaken. Appearance is just one-fourth of someone’s or something’s total well being.  Meaning that the elements that can be seen in the Internet are not what they seem but are much more complex outside of the virtual world and towards our reality.

                "HTML Documents" as I can say it. It might be very simple in plain view but I guarantee it is a gargantuan task to fully understand how it really works. In the first place, I wondered so much like why there are brackets and what are these words I’m putting on a simple article? What are these symbols and shortcuts for? Why does it need so many things to even function properly? It was truly out of this world.

                Days surely passed and I began to understand them little by little. As a matter of fact, I even enjoyed doing them because every button that I had pressed on the keyboard and every character I see appearing in the monitor marks that a certain and dazzling outcome would follow. It was just a matter of time that I was able to master everything and I never thought I could call it simple. Due to the activities I have encountered and the yearnings my beloved teachers had given, my problems and troubles were resolved…..finally.

                Now, what I am really happy about is the fact that another grading period is about to end and this blog signifies just that. My hardships and troubles in the past have yet again…well…passed. I do hope it will bring me a very fruitful outcome. And what I feel about the subject and what I had learned from it is truly indescribable. Well, similar to my Blog for Tomorrow that moving on I will still try my best to learn that vast cog of the internet and by doing so, I may learn to put everything to the test and be able to enhance and ready myself for the challenging future I will be facing.zzz

Not a Passerby at all

                A lone figure walks up an aisle. He looked very decent and well-mannered as well. Sitting above his head was a brown sturdy “salakot”.  It was vivid that he was a true embodiment of a real Filipino and he went by the name Juan. As he continued to tread the path, another figure stops him in his tracks and he was also good-looking. He was wearing large eyeglasses and he was as well carrying a large book saying “English is better with us.” Juan was confused with what intentions the guy may have had but he then began to turn speechless when that guy asked him endless chains of interrogations using the universal language he did not know well. Let’s just say the guy is a foreigner showing his capabilities when it comes to the field of English. When the said foreigner finished his statements that almost turned out into a debate with just him in opposition, he showed the title of the book he was carrying inches from Juan’s face and said “Never forget.”

                Any Filipino citizen would have a melancholic expression upon reading the text above because as obvious as it may seem, we were very inferior to the foreigner when it comes to Language proficiencies especially on English. It’s not easy for us to be in equilibrium with them because we are not that into speaking that foreign language and unlike them, whom almost every single minute they have, speak such dialect. It’s a gigantic advantage for them having English as a natural spoken language. But we will not pose this as just something that is insignificant, we must also be globally competitive when it comes to language proficiencies. Since we don’t only step on our own share of soil on the world but foreign sides as well.

                Fortunately, we Filipinos know much about English in either written or oral aspects. But still, it cannot cover the fact that we are still behind when other nations are included in the scene. Just like Juan in the text, he wasn’t able to respond because of the magnitude of skill the foreigner had. Though he might have replied in his way of perceiving the matter, it would have been at a simpler phase. So what should we do to change the looming end we have to face when our inadequate skills becomes the cause?

                There are endless solutions and possibilities we could come up with but not all will be as effective as the other. One of these is intensifying more the way we learn the language. Like for instance in school, if we would consider focusing more on our English subject but simultaneously regarding our own national dialect- Filipino, we would gain ample yearnings with such. Another is using the language in any way possible. In writing essays and speaking in public, we should find time to utilize English even though the conversation and the other usages is the simplest thing ever. This would be the cheapest way to learn them and of course, with other productive activities as well.

                Let’s ponder on the idea that Juan already learned English to the extent that he can even debate with the foreigner awhile ago. Imagine that since he was a child, he was equally exposed in the language with the other subjects. He tried his best to practice and widen more his learning. Now, he can fight, he can compete and possibly win.  The foreigner might have asked him never ending chains of interrogations but on the second encounter, Juan will give him an open-ended charade of goose bumping answers that would draw the foreigner to be the one who is speechless. It’s very conclusive that if  we try to improve and uphold our proficiency in the English language, in terms of competitiveness in vital communications, winning is worth betting for. Let them constantly remember that we are nothing like a passerby on that aisle.
