Start with Vegetables

Most children would normally neglect vegetables due to the fact that it’s quite unappealing to young taste buds.  They would obviously prefer those so called “junk foods” and other unhealthy foods since the taste and the achievement of satisfaction from these edibles are mainly their interests.  No wonder manufacturers of such things never go out of business.  Now if I think about it, this practice should highly be focused on and should be given solutions anytime soon because it will only lead to unwanted results if left unresolved.
It would be very difficult to stop the production of innutritious foods but we can promote to everyone the alternative answer which could already be the best solution.  In my own opinion, the one thing that should highly be dealt with is the answer instead of just thinking about the problem itself.  In this case, nutritious edibles such as vegetables should be our main concern especially towards children who very much dislike them.
As a matter of fact, the Nutrition Month’s theme for this July 2012 is “Pagkain ng gulay ugaliin, Araw-araw itong ihain” which pertains to vegetables being the sovereign meal of everyone’s daily consumption.  This is a great way to start engaging children to consume vegetables in an amount far greater than those unhealthy ones.  Another method that could also be of great help is being creative with them.  Producing different snacks or others that children would find appealing through creative use of vegetables.  In fact, commercial products containing satisfying amount of vegetables within them are being sold nowadays which is a wonderful beginning in the said method for vegetables.  There are other ways to make children like vegetables and like it or not the right time to do them would be possibly now.
It’s no doubt that all parents want the best for their children especially when it comes to proper nutrition so it is very vital to make them love vegetables.  It should be a part of their daily meals in order for them to get the needed nutrients everyday for the entire body.  So from now on, we should always bear in our minds that getting the proper nutrition shall pave the way to better lives for all of us and starting with vegetables would only mean ending with famous titles.
